Singapore Gaga
Today the SDFTV class went to watch Singapore Gaga. Its a local production by a local film maker. Pretty interesting. It may seem like "rojak" (a mish mesh of everything), but its got substance. Something different from our "drama" productions and the stereotypical local movie. I liked some parts of the editing.
It probably is a feature film? I'm not really sure what genre it is. But it was done in an atypical way I'd say. Snippets here and there. Focus is always shifting to a new aspect or character. But it brings out a certain interest that captivates you, engages you. Old China men who love singing, Chinese men who love Latin, the MRT announcer lady and her accent, street performers who are out there to make money humbly, sports days...
And not forgetting my favourite part. The Harmonica and Recorder segment. It was edited so that it seemed to be two separate interviews. But the longer you watched, it began to dawn on you that it was something that fit together hand in hand. Ahhh, I loved that part.
The "One dollar song lady" also touched your heart in a way. Poor lady, people should buy tissues from her! She tries so hard!
